Live From the Derby Driver's POV

Hi, my name is Jerren Staker

I am the builder and driver of this year's 2026 derby car. This particular car is a 1974 Mercury Marquis. Demolition Derby, for me, is the love of motorsports, engines, race fuel, and most importantly, family. I absolutely love having my family and friends at the shows. This is the fourth derby car I’ve ever built, and the first I’ve built to this scale; I really hope everything goes well! I've built this car to the best of my ability, and I really hope it does a good job. I'm hopeful I get to make some hard hits and put on a very good show for everybody.

I have worked very hard to make this car happen. A lot of thought, time, and money went into this project. I’m very grateful to my friends and family for all the support and love. I really hope everyone has a good time at the show! Thank you for watching and supporting!
